Board Meeting Minutes 6/9/2026
The board meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Roll call showed all board members present along with 6 residents
Supervisor Groy made a motion to adopt the agenda as written and was seconded by Supervisor Wagner. Motion carried.
Minutes of May 2026 were read. Motion to accept minutes as read by Supervisor Wagner and seconded by Supervisor Groy. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s report was read. Motion to accept report as given by Supervisor Groy and seconded by Supervisor Wagner. Motion carried.
Recycling/garbage report showed that in May, 17.64 tons of garbage was collected and 6.61 tons of recyclables. Clean Up Day had 56 parties come in. 18 of those parties had electronics only and they were from Pembine/Dunbar/Amberg/Niagara and Kingsford. & parties had no electronics. We collected 8 pallets with 4 foot boxes full plus 2 pallets of large screen TV’s.
Report on building permits and fire signs showed 6 building permits and 2 fire signs. A 30x50 outbuilding on slab on Beecher Lake Rd; a 20x12 addition on Peterson; a 12x24 addition on Trout Haven; a 42x64 outbuilding on Maple Ridge; a 40x42 office/bathroom building on Town Corner Lake Road and a 24x24 detached garage on Smith Lane. The fire signs were on French Road and Smitty Drive.
Liquor License applications were received from Green Acres and Four Seasons. Motion by Supervisor Groy and seconded by Supervisor Wagner to issue licenses to both parties. Motion carried.
Discussion of street signs/fire numbers that are the older style. The rescue squad notified us that some of them are quite faded and would need to be replaced with the double sided, reflective ones. The newer style started in 2007. We have records from 2013 to present but will need to divide up the town into sections and then find out which ones need to be replaced using the alphabetic listing of the assessment record. Cindy Butterfield will work on dividing the town up and getting Lange to give us a price break if possible. Item will be put on next month’s agenda.
Scott Construction provided estimates on chip sealing on some of the town roads. This was posted last month. Motion by Supervisor Groy and seconded by Supervisor Wagner to approve the estimates so that Scott Construction can schedule the work to be done this summer. Motion carried.
Highway/road report showed that the crack sealing is completed, the loader will be getting new tires at the cost of $6000 and that no grading can be done until it rains more. Likewise, grass along the road will have to wait until more rain is received. Gary will be checking with PMI to see about doing pulverizing on Smeester School Road as they will be in Dunbar doing work. The pick up truck is being readied for sale by bids. Also mentioned was that there is now a 3 times penalty for anyone caught ripping up roads.
Correspondence was a complaint about animals in a neighborhood which Chairman Younglove is responding to; a request for a fireworks permit which Chairman Younglove is responding to; and notice that we are receiving a recycling grant in the amount of $2464.18.
There were no public comments. Items for future meetings is the street signs/fire numbers. Jeff Mueller mentioned that Verhaylen street sign needs replacement.
Board of Review will be Friday, June 12th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 p.m.
Motion to approve payment of bills in the amount of $50,406.90 by Chairman Younglove and was seconded by Supervisor Wagner. Motion carried.
Next meeting will be July 14th at 6:00 pm. Supervisor Groy made a motion to adjourn which was seconded by Supervisor Wagner. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 6:38 pm.
