PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES 9/21/26
The meeting was called to order at 6:02 p.m. Lindi Magneson, John Wagner, Cindy Butterfield and Dave Paulsen were present. Jeff Mueller was absent.
We worked on the ordinance book. It was decided to change chapter 19 to 15 to make it fall in line with the other chapters but to leave chapter 20 as is. Table of contents will need to be changed to reflect. The group is to review chapters 14, 19 and 20 for the October meeting so that our review can be finished.
We then discussed camper permits. Currently it is 7 months or one year permits, the 7 months being May through November. There was some discussion as John would like to store his camper on his one acre parcel across the road over the winter but did not want to pay for an entire year as his only reason for storing it would be to get it out of the way for snowplowing. Could the 7 month permit be for any 7 month period? John will discuss with the board and see if the language could be changed. Will discuss again at our next meeting.
Lindi wanted to discuss variance protocol. The requests are supposed to come through the planning committee but she wanted to identify protocol and put it in written form. We came up with: 1 Application to committee to review; 2 Someone assigned to view property; 3 Clerk sends copies of variance to adjacent property owners; 4 Planning Committee to discuss the variance; and 5 Written recommendation given to board. Lindi also wanted to discuss prohibiting non disclosure agreements between developers and property owners due to data centers being opened in various communities. She believes we should be proactive and do an ordinance prohibiting non disclosures. We will have to discuss with the board to see what they feel about drafting an ordinance.
Cindy Butterfield made a motion to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Dave Paulsen. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m. Next meeting will be October 27th at 6:00 p.m.
