The board meeting was called to order at 6:40 p.m. All board members along with the clerk and treasurer repeated the official oath of office. We were joined by a new board member, John Wagner. Outgoing board member Dave Paulsen was present and he was thanked for his contributions to the town. All board members were present along with 13 residents.
Motion by Supervisor Groy, seconded by Supervisor Wagner to adopt the agenda as given. Motion passed.
Minutes of the 3/14/23 meeting were read. Motion to accept the minutes as read by Supervisor Groy, seconded by Supervisor Wagner. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s report given. Motion to accept the report as given by Supervisor Groy, seconded by Supervisor Wagner. Motion carried.
Recycling report for March was 14.55 tons of garbage and 2.59 tons of recyclables.
No building permits or fire signs in March.
Variance on storage container by Jean Priefer/Cindy Chartrand. The planning commission reviewed and recommended that the variance be denied, mostly due to no permanent dwelling on the property. Motion by Chairman Younglove, seconded by Supervisor Wagner to deny the variance. Motion carried. Cindy Chartrand was present and was told that after they had a permanent dwelling on the property they could review it again.
Outgoing supervisor Dave Paulsen was the head of the planning committee and John Wagner was a citizen member of the committee. Chairman Younglove appointed Supervisor Wagner to replace Dave Paulsen and Dave agreed to stay on the committee as citizen member.
Chairman Younglove is working on our LRIP trip grant. He is meeting with the highway commission tomorrow for an amendment to the grant. He requested that the board approve putting out bids when the amendment is completed. Chairman Younglove made a motion to approve putting out bids, seconded by Supervisor Groy. Motion carried.
ARPA funds are still available. The board would like to use on our LRIP grant which is to finish Crowe Road. Motion by Supervisor Groy, seconded by Supervisor Wagner to approve using ARPA funds for this project. Motion carried.
Discussion of ongoing road improvement projects were that the crew is dealing with water on the roads. One inspection of the roads has been done to determine which roads to work on this year. Another inspection will take place before final decision.
Correspondence was a meeting notice by Marinette and Oconto counties on roads.
Public comments were that Art Rettke who attended the meeting has stepped down as judge and he was thanked for his service. Wendy Younglove was introduced as the new municipal judge and will be sworn in tomorrow in Marinette. No other public comments.
Chairman Younglove made a motion to approve bills in the amount of $27,341.61, seconded by Supervisor Groy. Motion carried.
