The monthly Board Meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. Pledge of Allegiance was recited and it was noted that all board members were present along with clerk, 9 residents plus 3 guests. Supervisor Groy made a motion to adopt the agenda as written. Supervisor Wagner seconded the motion and the motion carried.
The clerk read the minutes of the May 2023 meeting. Supervisor Groy made a motion that the minutes be accepted as given. Supervisor Wagner seconded the motion and the motion carried.
The treasurer’s report was given. Supervisor Groy made a motion to accept the report as given. Supervisor Wagner seconded the motion and the motion carried.
Recycling/garbage report stated that there were 20.05 tons of garbage and 3.65 tons of recycling in the month of May. For clean up day on June 2nd, there was 2.45 tons taken in at $80/ton. With paying the clerk time for helping with the paperwork the total clean up is projected at $304.50.
Report on building permits and fire signs showed that a razing permit was issued for North Lake Road, 5 fire signs on Ring Lane and Tower Line Road along with 5 driveway permits.
Liquor License application from Green Acres received. All taxes paid and notice put into the paper. Also a temporary liquor license application for the centennial was received. Motion to approve both licenses by Supervisor Groy and seconded by Supervisor Wagner. Motion carried.
Donation was requested by Pflueger Brothers Fishing Club. They do a duck race on Labor Day. The funds are used to support our local rescue squad and they have also given funds to the school for underprivileged families. Motion to donate $100 to the club by Supervisor Groy, seconded by Supervisor Wagner. Motion carried.
Last month utilizing a humane officer was discussed. Chairman Younglove drew up a resolution for appointment of an officer along with a fee schedule. He introduced Lisa Bigelow to the group. We currently have two kennels that we will give to her for her set up. Motion to approve the resolution and fee schedule by Supervisor Wagner, seconded by Supervisor Groy. Motion carried.
Land Use Ordinance update was brought by Chairman Younglove amending it to take off the 6 year limitation. Motion by Supervisor Groy to accept the update, seconded by Supervisor Wagner. Motion carried.
Discussion of a fireworks donation to Pembine for the 4th of July celebration. Motion by Supervisor Wagner to donate $300 to Pembine for the fireworks, seconded by Supervisor Groy. Motion carried.
Brush disposal was discussed at our last meeting and continued to this meeting. Chairman Younglove met with Chairman Bole and Pembine is not interested in doing a pay per person. The cost when they decide to chip is about $3000. The board decided to not join in with Pembine at this time.
A culvert on Trout Haven Road must be replaced this year. The county will reimburse the town up to one half. The culvert itself with be about $7300 and could cost up to $4000 to install and make the road whole again. It is a 49 inch pipe with an 18” overflow. There has been discussion with Morin or the Town of Dunbar regarding putting it in. Since it is an emergency issue, we will go ahead and continue to get the paperwork completed to do it.
Variance on Chitko Road. Bob Grandaw and Gary Gehling both went to the property to look at the area affected by the fence and they have no concerns as far as snow plowing is concerned. Chairman Younglove made a motion to approve the variance, seconded by Supervisor Groy. Motion carried.
Variance on Schultz Lane. The property is less than 2 acre minimum at 1.56 acres. The parties would like to build a 31x31 cabin on the property. Since the lot is an established lot, the board did not feel there was a problem with it. Motion by Supervisor Groy to approve the variance, seconded by Supervisor Wagner. Motion carried.
Discussion of ongoing road improvements showed that culverts on Fire Lane were repaired, they crew has been hauling gravel and Butterfield Road had a repair completed on it.
Correspondence was a letter regarding our recycling grant of $2462.97 approved; a thank you letter for the donation to Youth Baseball and a DNR publication showed that if people need items picked up such as computers, DVD players, Fax machines, TV’s, VCR’s, etc., you can contact 920-948-0980 or 888-237-8289.
Under public comments Chairman Younglove mentioned that we need to get some citation books printed and found a place that will do 500, 3 part citations for $250 per town.
Chairman Younglove made a motion to approve payment of bills in the amount of $23,345.05, seconded by Supervisor Wagner. Motion carried.
