Town Of Beecher

 

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m.  The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all.  There were 11 residents in attendance in addition to the full board. 

Reading of the 2025 Annual Meeting minutes were read by the clerk.  Motion to accept the minutes as read by Dave Paulsen and seconded by Jeff Mueller.  Motion carried. 

The 2025 Financial Report was presented.    

Motion to renew the contract with Pembine Cemetery Association in the amount of $1200 by Dan Groy and was seconded John Wagner.  Motion carried. 

Motion to continue with Nicolet Bank as our financial institution by Mike Younglove and seconded by John Wagner.  Motion carried. 

Motion to continue posting notices per current policy (website, town hall, Patti’s Place and facebook) by Jeff Mueller and seconded by Dave Szprejda.  Motion carried.

Motion to put $25,000 into equipment reserve fund by Dan Groy and seconded by John Wagner.  Motion carried. 

The fire equipment reserve fund was discussed next.  Motion by Mike Younglove to leave it as is for now and seconded by Jeff Mueller.  Motion carried. 

Motion to donate $250 to the Little League by John Wagner and seconded by Jeff Mueller.  Motion carried. 

Introduction to a new Homeowner’s Award was read by Planning Committee member Dave Paulsen.  This is an incentive plan and would recognize a homeowner that improves their property.  Motion to go ahead with this plan by Dave Paulsen and seconded by Ken Hanson.  Motion carried.    

Due to the fact that the law changed so that clerk and treasurer positions can now be appointed after approving at an annual meeting vs. referendum, Mike Younglove made a motion to change the clerk and treasurer positions to appointed vs. elected beginning in 2027.  Applicants would not have to be residents of the town and the appointment would be for a 3 year term vs. a 2 year term.  The motion was seconded by Carolee Hirte.  Some discussion as to how salaries would be set, town board would set those at the budget meeting.  Motion carried. 

Open discussion was that Lisa Hanson made a motion that the town donate $1000 next year to the fireworks and seconded by Ken Hanson.  Motion carried. 

No other discussion so a motion to adjourn made by Dan Groy and seconded by John Wagner.  Motion carried.  Meeting adjourned at 6:30 p.m.
