 Meeting Minutes

May 11, 2021

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m.  Pledge of Allegiance was recited and roll call showed 12 residents in attendance in addition to the board.

The first order of business was the resignation from Dave Paulsen as chairman due to time constraints he had.  Mike Younglove had expressed an interest in the open supervisor position and being he is a retired attorney and was willing to take on the chairman position, upon motion of Clerk Butterfield and seconded by Supervisor Groy to install him as chairman, motion carried with the affirmative vote of Treasurer Hirte.  Mr. Younglove took the chair position.

No changes to the agenda so it was adopted as given.

April 2021 minutes were read with motion by Supervisor Groy, seconded by Chairman Younglove to accept as given.  Motion carried.

Treasurer’s report given with motion by Supervisor Groy, seconded by Chairman Younglove to accept it.  Motion carried.

Recycling/garbage report showed that in April we had 17.1 tons of garbage and 3.77 tons of recyclables.

There were no fire signs and one building permits in the month of April.

Clean up day was presented as Friday, June 4th and Monday, June 7th from 8 am to 3:30 pm at the GAD facility on the corner of Hwy 141 and Hwy 8.  Residents can take their items there.  They must obtain a voucher from the clerk which can either be picked up on Tuesday mornings at the office or if requested, can be mailed to the resident.  Motion by Supervisor Groy, seconded by Chairman Younglove to accept this plan as presented.  Motion carried.  Notice will be posted on the website, facebook and at Patti’s Place and the town hall.

Discussion of ongoing road improvement projects showed that the crew has been out crack sealing roads.  There was a concerned resident that was concerned that although it was requested to have deaf child signs put on their road that it did not get done and that there are problems with speeding on their road.  Another resident again voiced concern about speeding and condition of Schultz Road.  If signs are not in-house, the clerk will make sure they are ordered and the road crew will install.

Correspondence was a letter from the Kraemers re: ATVs on Schultz Road and the possibility of them closing the trail crossing their land if something is not done to slow down the traffic.  The chairman asked the clerk to draft a letter to the sheriff’s department regarding this issue to see what enforcement can be done.  Also received a letter from the county treasurer’s office about the county obtaining property on Peterson Road for back taxes.

Under public comments, a resident brought a written complaint that a property adjacent to his built a motor cross track and that this frightened his pets and was a noise nuisance.  The board will look into it.

Next meeting will be June 8th at 6 pm.  Motion by Supervisor Groy, seconded by Chairman Younglove to adjourn the meeting.  Meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m.

Board of Review meeting was called to order at 6:50 p.m.  Purpose of the meeting was to adjourn to a later date as the assessment roll is not ready.  Proposed dates are August 13th from 1-3 pm for Open Book and August 20th from 1-3 pm for Board of Review.  Motion to adjourn to August 20th by Supervisor Groy, seconded by Chairman Young love.  Meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
